Call for Partners: Help Us Restore Thogoto Forest with Indigenous Trees

As Thogoto Forest conservationists, we are committed to increasing the coverage of indigenous trees within the forest. Currently, only 54 hectares of the 764-hectare forest are covered with indigenous trees.

We have identified a 10-hectare area within the pipeline zone that requires enrichment tree planting. To achieve this, we are seeking partners to support this initiative.

  • Only indigenous trees will be planted
  • Partners must include a budget for aftercare – because we don’t just plant trees; we grow them!
  • Join us in restoring Thogoto Forest and making a lasting impact on our environment.

Visit to Silver Oak Mazingira Hub – 2nd May 2025

Thogoto Forest Family (TFF) team visited Silver Oak Mazingira Hub in Karen for a hands-on training and benchmarking session focused on nursery establishment and management. The visit provided valuable insights into innovative and sustainable practices for setting up indigenous tree nurseries, including seed propagation, soil preparation, and community-driven care systems. Inspired by the experience, TFF is now working on creating a designated safety zone within Thogoto Forest to support the successful implementation of our own nursery initiative for long-term conservation.
